Once we receive your form, Ryan or Millie will be in touch to arrange a suitable class and answer any questions you may have.

If you’re unsure which class is most appropriate, we’re always happy to help and you’re very welcome to watch a class before deciding to take part.

Is my child ready to start karate?

Most children start with us from the age of 5. However, we occasionally accept enthusiastic 4-year-olds who are ready to participate in a structured group class.

Every child develops at their own pace, so we also consider whether they’re ready to enjoy and benefit from karate.

Our classes work best for children who are able to:

✔ Join in with a group activity.

✔ Follow simple instructions from an instructor.

✔ Stay with the group throughout the lesson.

✔ Take turns and train safely alongside other children.

✔ Participate with a reasonable level of independence, without requiring continuous one-to-one support.

Karate is a physical activity taught in a group environment, so these skills help ensure every student can learn safely, make progress and enjoy their training.

If you’re unsure whether your child is ready, we’d be delighted to have a quick chat before booking a free trial.
