Come and try a class
If you’re new to karate, you don’t need any experience or special equipment to get started. We’ll show you what to do and help you settle into the class.
Even if you’ve trained before, it doesn’t matter where you trained or which organisation you came from. Whether you’re returning after a break or have been training for years, come and train with us.
Best of all, your first class is free, so come along and see if Kojin-Kai is right for you.

Junior Class
(5 – 8yrs)
Wednesdays: 17:30 – 18:30
Sundays: 09:00 – 10:00
The starting point for our youngest karateka. Children learn real karate from day one, with proper technique in particular, coordination and focus, taught in a way that’s fun, energetic and paced sensibly for young bodies and minds. It’s a genuine introduction to Kyokushin, not a watered-down version of it.
Cadet Class
(9 – 12yrs)
Wednesdays: 18:30 – 19:30
Sundays: 10:00 – 11:00
Training steps up here. Cadets build on the basics with sharper technique, more contact, and the beginnings of real sparring, all taught with proper coaching and care. Whether you’re a complete beginner or continuing on from Juniors, this is where karate starts to feel like the real thing.
Senior Class
(13yrs+)
Wednesdays: 19:30 – 20:30
Sundays: 11:00 – 12:00
Whether you’re brand new to karate, returning after years away, or an adult looking to get fit or learn something new, this class is full contact and semi contact Kyokushin, taught with modern coaching and encouragement. Hard work, as a result real progress, and a genuinely good group of people to do it alongside.
Is my child ready to start karate?
Most children start with us from age 5, but we occasionally accept 4-year-olds who are ready for a structured group class.
Our classes work best for children who are able to:
- Join in with a group activity.
- Follow simple instructions from an instructor.
- Stay with the group throughout the lesson.
- Take turns and train safely alongside other children.
- Train in a group without continuous one-to-one support.
Not sure if your child is ready? In that case, have a quick chat with us before booking their free trial.
