KOJIN-KAI KARATE CLUB

Traditional Kyokushin Karate taught with a modern approach.

ASHFORD, KENT

Kojin-Kai is a fully independent Kyokushin Karate club based in Ashford town centre. We offer full-contact and semi-contact karate for children aged 5+ through to adults.

We are a family-run club shaped by our students. We teach traditional Kyokushin karate with a modern mindset, valuing effort, character and long-term development alongside technique. At Kojin-Kai, training is about more than performance alone. It is a place that values each person in their own right, and which students consistently describe as a supportive environment that challenges them to grow as a person and as a karateka.

Our Classes

Junior Class
(5 – 8yrs)

Wednesdays: 17:30 – 18:30
Sundays: 09:00 – 10:00

The starting point for our youngest karateka. Children learn real karate from day one, proper technique, coordination and focus, taught in a way that’s fun, energetic and paced sensibly for young bodies and minds. It’s a genuine introduction to Kyokushin, not a watered-down version of it.

Cadet Class
(9 – 12yrs)

Wednesdays: 18:30 – 19:30
Sundays: 10:00 – 11:00

Training steps up here. Cadets build on the basics with sharper technique, more contact, and the beginnings of real sparring, all taught with proper coaching and care. Suitable for complete beginners and those continuing on from Juniors alike, this is where karate starts to feel like the real thing.

Senior Class
(13yrs+)

Wednesdays: 19:30 – 20:30
Sundays: 11:00 – 12:00

Whether you’re brand new to karate, returning after years away, or an adult looking to get fit or learn something new, this class is full contact and semi contact Kyokushin, taught with modern coaching and encouragement. Hard work, real progress, and a genuinely good group of people to do it alongside.

Sophie and Harry absolutely love attending Kojin-Kai Karate Ashford. The Karate classes have given both of our children a boost in their self confidence and self discipline. Classes are always extremely fun, enjoyable and are very rewarding.

Sophie and Harry have earned a real sense of achievement throughout their gradings whilst learning new self defence skills, earning new colour belts and certificates along the way, as well as being able to take part in tournaments if they wish!

Classes are always designed to meet the children’s own pace of learning with praise and positive feedback given along the way building further confidence to the children. Classes are small, family orientated with a really nice atmosphere where everyone is also valued! The club also has really great safeguarding skills and are first aid trained too!

Kojin-Kai Karate Club is the best place to be! Thank you Millie and Ryan for everything, you guys are the reason this happened. So thankful to be apart of this club. You have inspired my daughter and me and we are forever grateful for the time you put in and the support you give to every individual student.

Brilliant karate club with great ethos. The instructors here really take the time to help every student, which is a rarity as many clubs just focus on getting numbers through the door. My son loves going to class, as the culture is about having fun, as well as the serious stuff of learning karate and fitness. Highly recommended.
